Invokyr beginner guide
Sources checked Steam store page and appdetails API on 21 Oct 2026, Ludogram’s 8 Oct 2026 Early Access launch post, and Eisenfang’s Steam guide updated 19 Oct 2026.
You and up to five friends are in the house. A shared token moves when someone rolls the movement die in the game room.
Most stops rearrange the manor and ask you to bring idols back before the next roll. The number required floats above the board.
The center of the board starts the last trial: carry the Game Master’s soul idol home and seal it. A community guide says you then speak “Invokyr” into the mic.
Ludogram’s launch post lists four board themes, 15+ monsters, 20+ events, more than a dozen dice, cursed idols, House Rules, and a shop. There is no class select.
Steam’s own line is the whole pitch: roll the dice, survive what gets summoned, and beat the Gamemaster. The first night is smaller than the monster list.

The loop, in one board
Eisenfang’s guide, updated 19 Oct 2026, describes a shared six-sided movement die in the game room. One roll moves one token toward the center. The manor can rearrange. A new threat can stay for the rest of that game.
- Roll the movement die in the game room.
- Deal with the stop. That is either an idol hunt or a set-piece you have to live through. The rhyme above the board is the announcement. The lines are collected on Events.
- If the board wants idols, the count floats over it. Carry them back. Effects on an idol only apply while someone holds it. Details are on Idols.
- Roll again. Extra idols after the next die is unlocked can spawn more movement dice, up to three. You still only use one. That is how a table throws away a cursed roll.
- At the center, dead players come back and everyone is sent deep into the house. One person carries the Game Master’s soul idol to the board and seals it.
What to do on the first rolls
- Stay near the game room until you know which door leads back. The house is a labyrinth on purpose. A Thread die, if you find one, rolls toward the game room. A Compass is a later shop buy, not a starter tool.
- Special dice are single use and usually sit in drawers, containers, or out on tables. The community rule of thumb is five good faces and one bad face. Read Dice before you throw a red one at your friends.
- Listen before you open a door. Mimic doors breathe. Mannequins creak and only move when nobody is looking.
- Do not sprint past a sleeping plant, a huntsman, or a sandworm. Those three are called out as sound or movement sensitive in the same guide.
- Death is not always the end of your hands. Mirrors, portraits, whispers, and a Resurrect die are the documented ways back. Co-op covers them.
What Early Access already contains
Ludogram’s 8 Oct 2026 launch announcement, and the matching store FAQ, list this as already in the game:
| Included | Official wording |
|---|---|
| Boards | Four themes: Haunted Manor, Jungle, Icy Mountain, Desert. Then the Master Board. |
| Threats | More than 15 monsters and more than 20 events. |
| Tools | More than a dozen dice, cursed idols, and House Rules. |
| Between boards | A shop for upgrades, gadgets, and furniture. |
The store feature list also names biomes as “jungle, ice mountain, oversized toy chest.” That sentence does not use the four theme names. This guide does not merge “toy chest” into a fifth board. See Boards.
What to ignore for a night or two
- A copied “best loadout.” There is no class. Personal power is a shop upgrade you do not own on board one.
- Custom Mode. Patch V0.44.12 unlocks it only after the Game Master board, from a lever in the collection room, and it pays nothing.
- Exact damage from a wiki if your client just changed. V0.44.7 already retuned quicksand and stopped a Near Death curse from dropping items. The Updates page is the change log.
- Puzzle codes, until you want the side rooms. They are on Secrets, sourced from the same community guide, and Early Access lore can still grow.
Before you buy, from the store
Invokyr is a paid Windows game from Ludogram, published with Shochiku, Early Access on 8 Oct 2026. On 21 Oct 2026 the US store API price was $9.74, down from $12.99. SteamDB called that introductory offer as ending 22 Oct 2026. English has full audio. Twelve other languages have interface text and no full audio on the SteamDB language table. Minimum spec on the store page is Windows 10, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1650 or RX 580, and 5 GB of disk. The API also lists a Free To Play genre tag while marking the app as not free. The price is the fact that matters.
